Today I wish to begin this series on Rules of the Game by getting you to think in a different way about your life. I’m not guaranteeing that you’ll have some sort of life-changing epiphany, however if you can stick to me through this and future post, you’re visiting some modifications. You can’t bend the guidelines to your advantage until you know what they are!

What is a rule?

Before we start, let me cover a few fundamental concepts and principles.
What is a guideline? Well,a guideline is essentially a broad category of beliefs that specify how someone thinks the world runs. The keyword here is “believes.”.
Many of the time, people are operating on guidelines that they set for themselves without even recognizing it.

Guidelines You Think Exist

What are some guidelines you might unconsciously follow? Well,in my kind of work and the individuals I have actually engaged with,I’ve found these to be super common:.

· You need to work more to make more money.

· If you are a hard worker, your work will be rewarded.

· You need to go to school to get a great job.

· The federal government will take care of you in retirement.

Want to understand a typical thing amongst all of these rules? More times than not, these rules are broken.
In truth, you’re the just one envisioning them, and everyone else is doing simply fine without them.

The Other side

If these fictional guidelines don’t exist and everybody does not follow them, what’s stopping you from following your own set of rules? In fact, guidelines are crucial; it’s just crucial you’re following the right set of rules.

Guidelines should be empowering, they should set a standard of conduct for you to follow, they should have a cause-and-effect relationship with your outcomes, and they must set your procedures and treatments.
